Introduction

The embed player link is automatically generated when you add video/audio content to the 'Content Library'. You can share the embed link of content on any third-party website or App, and users can play the content from the embed link. Embed Player applies only to third-party websites, not to your own website. By enabling the "Domain Whitelisting" feature, you can allow only specific websites (Domains) to embed your video/audio content, and allow the users to play your content hosted on Muvi on that specific website via the Embed Player link. However, when the feature is not enabled, you can share the embedded player link on any website.

How to Whitelist the Domains

• To "Whitelist the Domains" feature, click on the "Security" menu in the CMS.
• Click on the "Restrictions" tab.
• Under "Restrictions", select “Domain Whitelisting".
• Type the domain name (where you want to share the embed player link) in the text box (e.g., www.muvi.com) and click on "Add". You add multiple domains.
• Click on "Save".
• Once you have added the website, you can view it in the list. The listed websites can play the video when they add the embed link to any of your videos.

Removing a Domain from the Whitelist

You can remove a specific website(domain) from the whitelist. When the domain is removed from the whitelist, the embed link of the content that you have shared on that domain will not be accessible.

• To remove a whitelisted domain from the list, click on the "Security" menu in the CMS.
• Click on the "Restrictions" tab.
• Click on the "Trash Icon" on the right-hand side of the domain that you want to remove.
• Click on "Save".
• Now, if you have embedded your content in the website (that you have already removed), then it will not show on that website.

How Domain Blocking Works

• First, add a domain under "Domain Whitelisting".
• Copy the embed player link of the content from the "Content Library".
• Share the link on that domain that you have already added to the whitelist.
• Now, remove the domain from the whitelist and check the page where you have shared the embed player link.
• Once the domain is removed from the whitelist, you can not play the content, and a message will be displayed.
• If you add the domain again to the allow list, then you can play the content again.
