How to Enable Cookie Message for Your Website

Introduction

Cookies are small files stored in the user’s browser. These are used to track end-users’ activity, including remembering random pieces of information the user has previously entered into form fields (e.g., credit card numbers, addresses, names, and passwords). Generally, cookies are used to enhance the user experience. They usually interact with the web server or the client’s computer. By showing the cookie message to your end-users, you can inform them that the website will install cookies on their devices, and by accepting the message, they have permitted the installation of cookie files.

How to Create a Cookie Message

To create a cookie message, first, you need to enable cookie messages.

Navigate to "Website & Apps"-->"Settings" in the Dashboard.
In “Privacy and Cookies”, select the checkbox “Enable Privacy and Cookies Message”.
In the text editor, type the cookie message you want to show to your end-users. You can format the text using different formatting options available in the text editor.
Click on “Update”.

Note: It's recommended to select this checkbox if your primary market is Europe, and unselect.

How to Enable Advanced Cookie Option

Manage your site’s cookie preferences and privacy controls with ease. Customize consent settings, enable or disable cookie consent prompts, and control different cookie categories—including essential, functional, analytics, and marketing cookies. This option gives you full flexibility to activate or deactivate cookies based on your compliance and user experience needs.

To enable the advanced cookie option, navigate to "Website & Apps"-->"Settings" in the Dashboard.
In "Advanced Option", enable "Allows cookies category-based configuration".
Select the cookie "Category" from the left-hand side and then select the option "Is Active" or "Take Consent". You can select both.
You can add a new category by clicking on the "New Category" option.
Click on "Update" to save and update the changes.
