How to Retain the CSS Changes

Introduction

When working with a Visual Designer (VD), it is possible to retain the CSS changes made to a previous template when switching to a new one. By choosing to retain the CSS changes, you can ensure that the customizations you have already made, such as font styles, colors, and layout adjustments, are preserved in the previous template. This saves time and effort by eliminating the need to manually recreate these modifications.

This feature allows you to seamlessly transition between templates without losing any customizations you have made to the template. When switching templates in the VD, you will be prompted with a confirmation dialog box. This dialog box gives you the option to either retain the CSS changes or start fresh with the previous template.

How to Retain the CSS Changes

You can retain the CSS changes while switching the templates.

• Navigate to “Website”-->” Templates” in the CMS.
• Under the active template, click on “Customize” to customize the template.
• You can make some CSS changes (e.g., adding text, changing font styles, colors, layout changes, etc.).
• After making the changes, you can click on “Save as Draft”, if you want to make further changes and save the changes that you already made.
• Click on “Save & Publish” if you want to save the changes and finally publish them to your website.
• Go back to the templates page in the CMS.
• Under “More Templates”, click on “Use This” on a different template.
• The template will be activated.
• When you go back to the previous template, you will be prompted to select “Resume Editing” or “Start Fresh”.
• Select “Resume Editing” if you want to save the CSS changes you have made to the template.
• If you select “Start Fresh”, then all the CSS changes made to the template previously will be lost.
