Introduction
Monetizing your playout channel allows you to generate revenue by displaying advertisements alongside your scheduled content. In your Playout system, you can integrate three types of ads: Ad Server Tags, 3rd-Party Cue Server Ads, and Uploaded Ad Creatives. This guide walks you through the complete process—from creating ads to integrating them into your channel.
How to Create Your Ads
Before you can add ads to your playout channel, you need to set them up in the system. You can create ads using one or more of the following methods:
1. Ad Server Tags
Use tags from your ad server (e.g., VAST/VPAID URLs) to deliver dynamic ads from your ad provider. Click here to know how to create and manage Ad Server Tags.
2. Uploaded Ad Creatives
Upload your own pre-recorded video ad files directly into the platform. Once your ads are created, they will be available for placement in your playout channels. Click here to know how to create and manage Ad Server Tags.
3. 3rd Party Cue Server Ads
Integrate real-time ads triggered by external cue servers. Click here to learn how to integrate third-party cue server ads.
Enable Ads in Your Channel
To allow ads to be inserted into your playout, you must enable the Ads feature in the channel settings. This activation ensures that your channel accepts ad insertions during content scheduling. Click here to know how to enable ads in channels.
Integrate Ads into Your Channel
After enabling ads, the next step is to add them to your playout timeline. You can integrate ads in two ways.
- A) Integrating Ads in Between Programs
This method inserts ads during the transition from one program to another.
- Ads will automatically play when one program ends and before the next program begins.
- You can insert one or multiple ads between programs.
- Ideal for commercial breaks or natural pauses between scheduled content.

- B) Integrating Ads into Programs
This method places ads inside a specific program rather than between programs.
- Insert mid-roll or pre-roll ads within the program's runtime.
- Assign different ads to different programs.
- Useful for long-form content that requires multiple ad breaks.
