Enabling Ads for an Existing Channel

Introduction

To integrate advertisements in the Playout programs, first, you need to enable the ads for the channels. You can enable the ads while creating the new channels or for an existing channel by editing the channel.

Enabling Ads for a New Channel

You can enable ads while creating a new channel in the Content Library.

Step 1:

• Navigate to “Content Management” -->” Content Library” in the CMS.
• In the content library, click on “Add New”.
• Type the channel name by clicking on the “Edit Icon”.
• On the right side, in the “Content Type” field, select “Channel” from the dropdown menu.
• In the “Channel Type" field, select "Video” from the dropdown menu.
• In the “Encoding Profile” field, select the channel encoding profilefrom the dropdown menu. If you have not created a profile, you can select the default profile.
• In “Categories”, select a category from the dropdown menu. You can select multiple categories.
• Click on “Save and Continue”.

Step 2:

• Click on the “Monetization Tab”.
• Under Monetization, enable “Advertisements”.
• In the “Ad Source”, select the ad source from the drop-down menu.
• Select “Ad Server Tags” if you want to integrate ads from third-party ad servers like Google Ad Manager, SpotX, etc.
• Select “3^rd Party Cue Server Ads” if you want to integrate add third party cue server ads.
• Select “Uploaded Ad Creatives” if you want to integrate your own created ads.

Enabling Ads for an Existing Channel

• To enable ads for an Existing Channel, navigate to “Content Management”-->” Content Library “in the Dashboard.
• In the “Content Library”, click on the “Edit Icon” under the channel for which you want to enable the ads.
• In the Content Edit page, click on the “Monetization Tab”.
• Under Monetization, enable “Advertisements”.
• In the “Ad Source”, select the ad source from the drop-down menu.
• Select “Ad Server Tags” if you want to integrate ads from third-party ad servers like Google Ad Manager, SpotX, etc.
• Select “3^rd Party Cue Server Ads” if you want to integrate third-party cue server ads.
• Select “Uploaded Ad Creatives” if you want to integrate your own created ads.
• Click on “Save”.
