Introduction

With the Force Update feature, Muvi One allows you to mandate app updates for your end-users running older versions of mobile and TV apps. This ensures all end-users are always on the most secure, compatible, and feature-rich version of your application. When enabled, this feature blocks users on outdated app versions from accessing the app. Upon launching the app, they are presented with a full-screen, non-dismissible pop-up informing them that their current version is no longer supported. The message includes a direct link to the App Store or Play Store for quick updates.

How to Force Update Apps from the CMS

• Log in to the Muvi One CMS (Content Management System)
• Navigate to “Apps” -->” App Dashboard” in the CMS.
• Under “All Apps,” you can view the version update option for apps.
• On the right-hand side of an app, click on “Force Update” to update the app to the latest version.
• A confirmation prompt will appear to prevent accidental activation.
• Type the latest version of the app in the pop-up and click on “Confirm”.

End-User Experience

Once Force Update is enabled:

• The end-users on older app versions will immediately see this message upon app launch (see the screenshot below).

“Your version is outdated. Update now to continue using the app.”

• The message is:

• Full screen
• Non-dismissible
• Includes an “Update Now” button linking to the relevant app store

• No part of the app is accessible until the update is completed.
