Introduction

Understanding the different user types in the Muvi platform helps you effectively manage access, monetization, and user lifecycle. Each user category is defined based on their registration status and access to content. There are different types of users in Muvi Platform, such as Registered User, Subscriber, PPV User, Full Access User, Cancelled User, and Deleted User.

Registered User

A Registered User is someone who has signed up on your platform but does not have an active monetization plan.

Key Characteristics:

• Successfully created an account
• No active subscription or Pay-Per-View (PPV) plan
• Limited access based on platform configuration

Subscriber

A Subscriber is a registered user who has an active and fully paid subscription plan.

Key Characteristics:

• Has an active subscription (SVOD)
• Can access content included in their subscription plan
• Subscription remains valid until expiry or cancellation

PPV User

A PPV (Pay-Per-View) User is a registered user who has purchased access to specific content or a PPV plan.

Key Characteristics:

• Has an active PPV plan
• May include:

• • Limited-time access to specific content
  • Plans offering unlimited access within a validity period
• Access expires once the validity period ends

Full Access User

A Full Access User can access all content on the platform without any monetization restrictions.

Key Characteristics:

• Unrestricted access to all content
• Typically used for:
  • Testing purposes
  • Internal reviews and demos
• Not tied to subscription or PPV models

Cancelled User

A Cancelled User is a registered user whose subscription or PPV plan has been cancelled.

Key Characteristics:

• Previously had an active plan
• Plan is now cancelled (may still be valid until the end of the billing cycle, depending on configuration)
• Access may be restricted based on platform rules

Deleted User

A Deleted User is a user whose account has been permanently removed from the platform.

Key Characteristics:

• Account no longer exists in the system
• Cannot log in or access any content
• Typically removed due to:
  • User request
  • Admin action
  • Compliance requirements
