    How to Generate EPG in Muvi Playout

    Introduction

    Unlock the power of seamless program scheduling with the “Generate EPG (Electronic Programming Guide)” feature by Muvi Playout! Our cutting-edge technology generates an industry-standard Electronic Program Guide, allowing you to effortlessly distribute accurate and reliable program schedules to multiple TV platforms, IPTV networks, applications, and services. We provide EPG data for up to 30 days and have the ability to exclude content based on duration and gaps.

    How to Generate EPG in XMLTV URL Format

    • To generate the EPG in XMLTV URL format, navigate to “Cloud Playout” -->” EPG” in the Dashboard.
    • Under "Generate EPG," in the “Channel” field, select the channel for which you want to generate the EPG. You can select any specific channel or “All Channels”.
    • In the “EPG Format” field, select the EPG format from the drop-down (e.g., XMLTV URL)
    • In the “Future Days” field, type the number of days for which you want the schedule in the EPG URL. The EPG information in the URL will be updated every time the link is opened or fetched. You can type a maximum of 30 days.
    • If you set Future Days = 7
      → Viewers can see:
      • Today’s schedule
        • Next 6 days of upcoming programs
    • If you set Future Days = 30
      → Full month schedule is visible in the EPG
    • In the “Exclude Content” field, select the “Content Duration” that you want to exclude (e.g., 30 seconds, 60 seconds, etc.). The content of those durations will be excluded from the EPG.
    • Click on “Generate” to generate the EPG.
    • The EPG URL will be generated. Click on “Copy” to copy and share the EPG URL.

    How to Generate EPG in XMLTV File Format

    • To generate the EPG in XMLTV File format, navigate to “Cloud Playout” -->” EPG” in the Dashboard.
    • Under "Generate EPG," in the “Channel” field, select the channel for which you want to generate the EPG. You can select any specific channel or “All Channels”.
    • In the “EPG Format” field, select the EPG format from the drop-down (e.g., XMLTV File)
    • In the "Start Date" field, select the start date from which you want to generate the EPG for the channel.
    • In the "End Date" field, select the end date when you want to stop sharing the EPG.
    • In the “Exclude Content” field, select the “Content Duration” that you want to exclude (e.g., 30 seconds, 60 seconds, etc.). The content of those durations will be excluded from the EPG.
    • Click on “Generate” to generate the EPG.
    • The EPG XML file will be generated. Click on “Download” to download and share the EPG.

    How to Generate EPG in CSV File Format

    • To generate the EPG in CSV File format, navigate to “Cloud Playout” -->” EPG” in the Dashboard.
    • Under "Generate EPG," in the “Channel” field, select the channel for which you want to generate the EPG. You can select any specific channel or “All Channels”.
    • In the “EPG Format” field, select the EPG format from the drop-down (e.g., CSV File)
    • In the "Start Date" field, select the start date from which you want to generate the EPG for the channel.
    • In the "End Date" field, select the end date when you want to stop sharing the EPG.
    • In the “Exclude Content” field, select the “Content Duration” that you want to exclude (e.g., 30 seconds, 60 seconds, etc.). The content of those durations will be excluded from the EPG.

    • The CSV file will be generated. Click on “Download” to download and share the EPG.

    How to Generate EPG in XLS File Format

    • Under "Generate EPG," in the “Channel” field, select the channel for which you want to generate the EPG. You can select any specific channel or “All Channels”.
    • In the “EPG Format” field, select the EPG format from the drop-down (e.g., CSV File)
    • In the "Start Date" field, select the start date from which you want to generate the EPG for the channel.
    • In the "End Date" field, select the end date when you want to stop sharing the EPG.
