Enabling End User Account Activation Process

Introduction

End user account activation feature helps prevent the use of invalid email address during the registration process.  If you will enable end user account activation process, then our system will send an activation link to the user’s email address just after the registration process is completed by the user. The user will get the activation link with the welcome on registration email. After clicking on the activation link, the user’s email account will be verified and after that he/she will be able to login to your store.

How to Enable End User Account Activation Process

• Go to “User Features” -->”Settings” in your CMS
• Under “Settings”, select the check box for “Verify Email or Registration”
• Click on “Save”. The end user account activation process will be enabled for your store.

Note: “Verify Email or Registration” option under the settings will be available when you have already activated 2 step registration process for your store. Click Here to enable 2 Step Registration process. 

Account Activation Email

• When the user receives a “Welcome on Registration” email after registration, he/she needs to click on a link to activate his/her account. (See Below Screenshot)

• Once the user clicks on the activation link, he/she will get a confirmation message that his/her account has been activated successfully.

Note: If the user hasn't activated his/her account, then he/she will get an error message while trying to log in for the first time.

Disabling End User Account Activation Process

You can disable the end user account activation process any time you want.

• Go to “User Features” -->”Settings” in your CMS
• Under “Settings”, deselect the check box for “Verify Email or Registration”
• Click on “Save” (See Below Screenshot)

After disabling end user account activation process, you need to modify the email template in the email trigger as well as remove the activation link.

• Go to “Marketing” -->”Email Triggers” in your CMS
• In the “User Action” field, select “Welcome on Registration” from the drop down
• Modify the email template and remove the account activation link
• Click on “Save”
