Introduction

The Fixed-Term Subscription feature lets you offer subscription plans that do not automatically renew. Instead of recurring charges, the subscription expires after a set period (e.g., a month or a year). Think of it like purchasing a magazine subscription for a fixed number of issues—once those issues are delivered, the subscription stops unless the customer actively renews it. This feature provides you with more control over your subscriptions, avoiding unwanted charges and making short-term access or trials easier.

• End-users purchase a subscription for a specific duration.
• The subscription remains active for the chosen period.
• Once the period ends, the subscription expires automatically without charging the end-users again.
• If the end-users wish to continue, they must manually renew the subscription.

Adding Fixed Term Subscription Plan

• To add a fixed term subscription plan, navigate to “Monetization” -->” Pricing” in the CMS.
• Click on “Add Subscription”.
• In the Plan Name field, type a plan name. For example, Gold, Silver, Premium, Standard, Basic, etc.
• In the "Short Description" field, briefly describe the subscription plan. You can mention that the subscription plan will automatically get canceled after 2 terms, 3 terms, etc.
• In the “Plan Type,” select “Paid”.
• Choose the Duration of the subscription plan (Daily, Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly, etc.) from the drop-down list. You can also add a custom duration.
• Type the Subscription Fee for the plan. The subscription plan will be added to the default currency. However, you can add multiple currencies to your subscription plan. Also, you can add a specific price for a specific country. Simply click on "Add More Price for Specific Country". Users in a specific country will see the content price in their currency when they click on content to purchase it and will be charged in their currency. (For example, a user in Japan will see the price of the subscription plan in Yen even though the default currency is set to US Dollar.) As currencies are not converted automatically, you have to convert the currency manually. For example, if your default currency is US Dollar and you are adding currency for India, then you need to convert the value of the US Dollar to Indian Rupees manually and then add.
• Select the check box for “Free Trial Period” if you want to give your subscribers a free trial. Select the desired free trial period from the drop-down list. (i.e., 1 Day, 7 Days, 14 Days, 1 Month, 3 Months, etc.). You can also add a custom free trial period.
• Select “Disable Recurring Charge” and type the “Terms” after which you want to disable the subscription plans (e.g., 1, 2, 3, etc.). For example, if you created a monthly subscription plan and typed the term 3, the subscription will automatically be canceled after 3 months.
• Click on “Save”. The subscription plan will be created.
• The end-users can view the plan when they visit your website.
