How to Control Audio Functionalities

Introduction

By configuring their Apple Watch with your audio streaming app (iOS), your end-users can enjoy the seamless experience of controlling audio content through their watch. They can easily control the audio app (i.e. play, pause, next, previous the audio tracks) on their watch screen, instead of opening the audio streaming app on their iPhone.

Note: We support iPhones running iOS 16 or above and Apple Watches on watchOS 5.2 or above.

Configuring Apple Watch with Audio Streaming App

To configure Apple Watch with your Audio Streaming App, the end-users need to install your Audio Streaming App both on their iPhone as well as their Apple Watch.

• The end-users need to launch the App Store in their iPhone and search for your Audio App (for example Aeon Audio)
• They need to install the App on their iPhone.
• Also, they need to install your Audio App in the watchOS. (Steps to follow - iPhone --> Menu --> Watch Menu --> Apps -> Installed Apps on Watch --> Turn ON the toggle which says “Show this App on the Watch”, this will install the application in watchOS) Click here to know how to install Apps on Apple Watch.
• Once your Audio App is installed on the iPhone as well as the watchOS, the end-users need to launch the app on both.
• On the watchOS, the message will be displayed “Waiting for your device to play a song”.
• Launch the app on iPhone and start playing a song, at the same time, the watchOS screen would reflect the same on its screen (see below screenshot).

Note: Please make sure that you have paired your Apple Watch to your iPhone via Bluetooth.

How to Control Audio Functionalities

End-users can easily control the audio streaming app on their watch screen. They can Play, Pause, Next, Previous the audio tracks and control the volume via the digital crown of the watch.
