Introduction

MRSS or Media RSS is an extension of RSS and it is used to syndicate multimedia files (image, audio, video) in RSS feeds. By using the MRSS feed, you can easily share the content of your store in third party sites. Also, you can create content in your store by importing third-party MRSS feed. To export/import the content via MRSS feed, first, you need to enable this feature in the CMS.

Note: At present, you can only share the content (export) via MRSS feed.

Enabling MRSS Feed

• To enable MRSS in your store, navigate to “Manage Content” -->” Settings” in the CMS.
• Select “Allow MRSS Feed” under “MRSS Feed”.
• Click on “Save”.
• Once MRSS is enabled, it will be displayed under the “Manage Content” menu as “Manage MRSS Feed ''.

How to Generate MRSS Feed

• To generate MRSS Feed, navigate to “Manage Content” -->” Manage MRSS Feed” in the CMS.
• Click on the “Generate New Feed” button under “Manage MRSS Feed”.
• Type the “Title” of your Feed in the title field. (e.g. Top Movies of 2020)
• Type description of your Feed in the “Feed Description” field.
• Choose your “Content Preference” between “Select Content with System Defined Filters” or “Specific Content”.
• Choose “Select Content with System Defined Filters” to select the content by using different types of filters.
• Select the “Content-Type” (i.e. “Video”, “Audio” or both)
• Pick the date range from the “Date Added” field.
• Select the “Content Category” from the drop-down. You can select multiple content categories. Also, you can select all categories at a time.
• Set the content order from the “Order By” field
• Select the number of contents you want to add from the “Number of Content” Dropdown.
• Select Metadata to be shared from “Metadata Preference”. You can select multiple options. Also, you can select all the options.
• Click on “Generate” to generate the MRSS feed for the selected content.
• You can copy the feed URL by clicking on “Copy” on the right-hand side of the feed.
• Once the feed is generated, you can view it by clicking on “View Output”.
• To share the MRSS feed click on “Copy Feed Output”.

• Generate MRSS Feed by Selecting Specific Content

You can also generate the MRSS feed by selecting specific content from the Content Library.

• Click on the “Generate New Feed” button under “Manage MRSS Feed”.
• Type the “Title” of your Feed in the title field. (e.g. Top Movies of 2020)
• Type description of your Feed in the “Feed Description” field.
• Choose your “Content Preference” as “Specific Content”.
• Type the content name in the search field and select it to add. Repeat the process to add multiple contents.

Edit MRSS Feed

You can edit the MRSS feed from the CMS.

• To edit the feed, navigate to “Manage Content” -->” Manage MRSS Feed” in the CMS.
• Click on “Edit” on the right-hand side of the feed you want to edit under “Action”.
• Make the necessary changes and click on “Update”.

Delete MRSS Feed

• To delete an MRSS Feed, navigate to “Manage Content” -->” Manage MRSS Feed” in the CMS.
• Click on “Remove” on the right-hand side of the feed you want to edit under “Action”.
• When asked for confirmation, click on “Yes” to remove the feed from the CMS.
