Introduction

By enabling the live chat option in Muvi Live, you can allow your end-users to start a group chat during the live streaming. The end-users can participate in the live chat while watching the live streaming. They can send messages, emoticons, etc. Also, the admin can manage the chat during the live streaming. Admin can block any user to participate in specific live streaming. One end-user can block another end-user and there are more features.

Enabling Live Chat in Muvi Live

• To enable live chat in Muvi Live, navigate to “Player” -->” Player Settings”.
• Under the 'Experience Tab', select "Live Chat".
• Click on “Save”. The Live Chat will be activated for live streams.
• You can activate the "Advanced Chat Feature" for the Live Chat. This is a paid feature. You need to buy a subscription to use this feature. However, you can use it on a Free Trial basis.
• Click on "Start Free Trial".
• When asked for the confirmation, click on "Proceed". Your 14-day free trial will be started.
• Select "Advanced Chat Feature", and click on "Save".
• You can purchase the "Advanced Chat Feature" subscription by clicking on the "Subscription" link.
• Live chat will be enabled for Muvi Live. When you start the live streaming the chat option will be automatically visible to your end-users in the Live Player.

How End-Users Chat During the Live Streaming

End-users can chat with each other or with the host (admin) when they are watching live-streaming content. The chat option will be displayed on the player by default during the live streaming once it is enabled.

• First, the end-users need to log in to enter the chat. They can use different login options like Gmail, and Facebook or they can use the Guest User option.
• *End-users need to type the message on the text field of the chat window and hit the “Enter” button on their keyboard or they can click on the "Send" button on the chat window to send a message.
• The message will be displayed on the chat window. Other end-users can also view the message.
• End-users can also send emoticons during the chat.
• Users can show/hide the date and time on the chat window by clicking on the 3 dots in the top right corner of the chat window.
• End-users can click on “Log Out” to log out from the chat.
• To close the chat window, end-users need to click on the chat icon on the chat window.
• To display the chat again, they need to click on the chat icon on the chat window.
