How to Use Muvi’s AI Subtitle and Translation Feature

Introduction

Muvi’s AI-powered Subtitle and Translation feature automatically generates and translates subtitles for your content—making it accessible to a global audience with minimal effort. This eliminates the need for manual subtitle uploads (like SRT or WebVTT files), saving time and operational costs while improving viewer engagement.

How to Generate Subtitles Using AI

First, upload the videos to “Assets” to generate subtitles for them (click here to know how to upload videos to the Assets). You can also generate subtitles for the already uploaded videos in the “Assets”.

To generate subtitles, navigate to “Content Management” -->” Content Library” in the Dashboard.
In the “Content Library”, click on “Assets”.
Under Assets, click on the “Files” tab.
On the right-hand side of a video (for which you want to generate the subtitle), click on the “Manage Subtitle Icon”.
Click on “Generate with Alie”.
You will be asked to use the Alie credits to generate the subtitle. Click on “Continue” to use the available credits to generate the subtitle. If you don’t have enough credits, you can first purchase them (from the Dashboard) and then generate the subtitles.
The subtitle will be generated in a few minutes in the original language of the audio in the video (i.e., if the audio language in the video is English, then the subtitle will be generated in English).
Click on the “Preview Icon” to preview the subtitle.
You can also download the subtitle by clicking on the “Download Icon”.
To delete the generated subtitle, click on the “Trashcan Icon”. When asked for confirmation, click on “Proceed” to delete.

How to Translate the Subtitle

Once the subtitle is created, you can translate it into multiple languages. This feature is also available to the previously uploaded subtitles (those not created using the AI).

To translate a subtitle, navigate to “Content Management” -->” Content Library” in the Dashboard.
In the “Content Library”, click on “Assets”.
Under Assets, click on the “Files” tab.
On the right-hand side of a video (for which you want to translate the subtitle), click on the “Manage Subtitle Icon”.
On the right-hand side, click on “Translate”.
Select the language from the drop-down menu in which you want to translate the subtitle. For the translation, Alie Credits will be used. Make sure you have enough credits available. You can select multiple languages to translate the subtitles.
Click on “Continue” to begin the translation.
It will take a few minutes to complete the translation.
Click on the “Preview Icon” to preview the subtitle.
You can also download the subtitle by clicking on the “Download Icon”.
To delete the generated subtitle, click on the “Trashcan Icon”. When asked for confirmation, click on “Proceed” to delete.
