How to Use Host Control Features in Muvi Meet

Introduction

As a host in Muvi Meet, you have access to several controls that help you manage meetings efficiently. These controls allow you to manage audio and video, control participant activities, share content, secure meetings, and customize your meeting experience. Familiarizing yourself with these controls will help ensure smooth, secure, and productive meetings.

This article explains the various host controls available in Muvi Meet and how to use them.

Managing the General Settings

Under the “General Settings”, you can upload your “Profile Picture”, enable/disable the “Notifications”, manage the “Media Settings,” and share your “Feedback”.

Uploading Profile Picture

• To upload your profile picture, in the bottom left corner of the meeting interface, click on the “Gear Icon”.
• Under “Settings”, click on “General”.
• Under "Change the avatar displayed in the meeting”, click on the “Camera Icon”.
• Select the image from your computer.
• Your profile picture will be added.

Change Your Media Settings

• To upload your profile picture, in the bottom left corner of the meeting interface, click on the “Gear Icon”.
• Under “Settings”, click on “Media Settings”.
• Under "Video”, select the “Video Source” that you want to use for the meeting.
• Under “More Video Options”, you can select additional options like “Resolutions”, “Frame Rate”, etc.
• Under “Microphone”, select the microphone from the drop-down menu that you want to use for the meeting.
• Under “Speaker,” select the speaker from the drop-down menu that you want to use for the meeting.
• Under “More Audio Options”, you can enable/disable the “Echo Cancellation” option.

Sharing Your Feedback

You can share your feedback with us using the Meet Feedback form.

• To share your feedback, in the bottom left corner of the meeting interface, click on the “Gear Icon”.
• Under “Settings”, click on “Feedback”.
• In the “Box” under "Your Feedback”, type your feedback.
• Click on “Submit”. Our team will get back to you.

Mute/Unmute Microphone

The audio controls allow you to manage your microphone during a meeting.

• Click the Microphone icon on the meeting toolbar.
• Click once to mute your microphone.
• Click again to unmute and resume speaking.

Turn Camera On/Off

• Click the Camera icon on the meeting toolbar.
• Click once to stop video transmission.
• Click again to turn your camera back on.

Screen Sharing Controls

Screen sharing enables hosts to present documents, applications, or entire screens.

Start Screen Sharing

• Click the Share Screen icon on the meeting toolbar.
• Select one of the available sharing options:
  1. Entire Screen
  2. Application Window
  3. Browser Tab
• Click Share.

Stop Screen Sharing

• Click Stop Sharing from the sharing toolbar.
• Your screen will no longer be visible to participants.

Raise Hand Monitoring

Hosts can monitor and respond to raised hand requests during the meeting.

Lock/Unlock Room

The Room Lock feature prevents additional participants from joining the meeting.

Lock the Meeting Room

1. Open Meeting Controls or Security Settings.
2. Enable Lock Room.

Unlock the Meeting Room

1. Return to the same settings menu.
2. Disable Lock Room.

When the room is locked, new participants cannot enter until the room is unlocked.

Pin/Unpin Participants

• You can pin the participants on the meeting interface.
• Hover the mouse on the specific participant you want to pin.
• Click on the “Spotlight or Pin” icon.
• The participant will be pinned to the meeting screen.
• To “Unpin” the participant, click on the “Spotlight or Pin” icon again, and the participant will be unpinned.

View Number of Participants Details

• As a host, you can view the total number of participants in the meeting.
• Click on the “Number of Participants Icon”. You can view the total number of participants in the meeting.

Managing Permissions for Individual Participants

• You can manage permissions for individual participants.
• Click on the “Number of Participants Icon”.
• Click on the “3 dots” on the right-hand side of a participant.
• Under “Permissions”, you can “Mute/Unmute” the microphone.
• “Turn on/off” the video of the participant.
• “Turn on/off" the “Screen Sharing” option.
• “Turn on/off" the “Chat” option.

Remove a Participant from the Meeting

• As a host, you can remove any participant from the meeting.
• To remove a participant from the meeting, hover your mouse over the participant and click on the “Remove from Meeting” icon.
