How to Integrate Ads in Live Streams

Introduction

Unlock the full potential of your live streams with Ads in Muvi Live. Monetize your live content by seamlessly inserting dynamic ads during live broadcasts. Muvi Live supports Server-Side Ad Insertion (SSAI), enabling ads to be integrated into the live stream experience while helping provide a seamless playback experience for viewers. You can add VAST Ad Tag URLs to specific time slots and define the duration of each ad break, giving you greater control over when and how ads are played during your live streams.

Whether you want to run a single ad or multiple ads in sequence, Muvi Live automatically plays them according to the schedule configured in the Dashboard. The Ads feature is completely free, with no limit on the number of ad breaks, and supports any VAST-compatible ad server. How to Add Ad Tags

First, you need to add the Ad tags (that you get from the Ad Servers, i.e., Google Ad Manager, SpotX, etc.) in the Muvi Live Dashboard. After adding the Ad Tags, you can insert them into your live streams. You can add multiple Ad Tags.

• To add the Ad Tags, navigate to “Monetization” -->” Advertisements” in the Muvi Live Dashboard.
• Under "Ad Tags", click on “Add Ad Tag”.
• Type the “Add Tag Name” (e.g., Ad for XYZ company/brand).
• Type or paste the “Ad Tag URL” (that you have copied from the Ad Server).
• You can enable "Add Macros". Ad Macros allow you to dynamically pass content, player, application, and device information to your advertising partners without manually modifying ad tag URLs for each campaign. For more details, click here.
• Click on “Save”.
• Once the ad tag is added, you can preview it by clicking on the "Eye Icon" on the right-hand side of the ad tag.
• Repeat the process to add multiple Ad Tags.

How to Enable Advertising for Live Streams

• You can enable ads for live streams when creating a new live stream or for an existing Live Stream.
• To enable ads for an existing live stream, navigate to "Content Management" -->"Content Library" in the Dashboard.
• Under a live stream (for which you want to integrate the ad), click on the "Edit Icon".
• In the content edit page, click on the "Monetization" tab,
• Scroll down to "Advertisements" and "Enable" it.
• Select the ad tags from the drop-down.
• Click on "Add Break".
• In the "Time" field, type the time in HH:MM:SS format (e. g., 01:25:30) and the Duration in "Seconds" (e.g., 10 seconds, 20 seconds, etc.). For example, setting the time to 00:10:00 with a 20-second duration schedules a 20-second break 10 minutes into the livestream.
• Click on the "Tick Mark" to add the ad break.
• Repeat the process with different times and durations to add multiple ad breaks.
• Click on "Save".
