How Private Content is Visible to End-Users

Introduction

Muvi allows you to make specific content private and assign it to selected end-users through a monetization plan. Private content remains hidden from the general audience and is only accessible to users who have been granted access via an active plan. This feature is ideal for offering exclusive content, premium access, or user-specific media.

Key Capabilities

• Make content private: Admins can mark selected content as private, so it does not appear to the general audience.
• Assign private content to specific users: Admins can assign private content to targeted end-users through a monetization plan.
• End-users with access can view it: Only users who have an active monetization plan containing the private content will be able to view it.

Enabling Private Content Access

• To enable the “Private Content Access”, navigate to “Content Management” -->” Content Settings” in the CMS.
• Click on the “Settings” tab.
• Scroll down to “Sharing and Accessibility”.
• In “Private Media Access”, enable “Content”.

How to Make Content Private

You can make content private while creating new content, or you can make an existing piece of content private.

For New Content:

• Navigate to “Content Management” --->” Content Library” in the CMS.
• In the “Content Library”, click on “Add New”.
• Provide basic content information like content name, select the content type, content group, content format, content category, and upload the video.
• Click on “Save and Continue”.
• In the next step, click on the “Security Tab”.
• In “Visibility”, select “Private” (by default, “Public” is selected).
• Click on “Save and Publish”.

For Existing Content:

• Navigate to “Content Management” -->” Content Library” in the CMS.
• In the “Content Library”, click on the “Edit Icon” under the content that you want to make private.
• In the edit content page, click on the “Security Tab”.
• In “Visibility”, select “Private” (by default, “Public” is chosen).
• Click on “Save and Publish”.

How Private Content is Visible to End-Users

• The private content is only visible to the end-users who have an active monetization plan (e.g., Subscription, PPV).
• The private content is not visible to the registered users (who don’t have any active monetization plans, such as subscriptions or PPV).
