Enabling Offline Playback Feature in the CMS

Introduction

Offline playback is a crucial feature for any video/audio streaming platform, allowing users to download and watch content (video, audio) without an internet connection. The Offline Playback feature in the Muvi One Mobile Apps enables the end-users to download content directly to their mobile devices for offline viewing. It is beneficial for end-users with limited internet connectivity, frequent travelers, or those who want to save on data usage.

Enabling the Offline Playback Feature in the Dashboard

First, as an admin, you need to enable this feature in the Dashboard.

To enable the offline playback feature, navigate to “Content Management” -->” Content Settings” in the Dashboard.
In the “Content Settings” page, under "Sharing and Accessibility", enable “Offline Playback”.
You will be asked to confirm whether you want to enable it for the existing video and audio content in the “Content Library”.
Click on “Proceed”. The offline playback feature will be enabled.
By default, the "Access Period" is set to "30 Days" (the end-users can view the offline content for 30 days. After that, it will be removed from their download list automatically). You can change it according to your requirement.
When you visit the “Content Library,” you can see that the offline playback is enabled for the content.
You can disable/enable the offline playback for individual video and audio content in the Content Library.

Note: Please note that this is a feature that works only on mobile applications. You must have built your mobile application to enable this feature.
