Introduction

At Muvi, we can integrate with any Ad Server which is VAST/VMAP compliant in accordance with IAB guidelines. We have out-of-the-box integration with SPOTX, Google Ad Manager, and any third-party Ad Server via BYOA (VAST Tags). You can create multiple Ad Tags (in SPOTX, Google Ad Manager, and any other Third-Party Ad Server via BYOA) and link them to multiple video content.

Enabling Advertisement

Before setting up your Ad Integration, first, you need to enable this feature in the CMS.

To enable Advertisement, navigate to “Monetization” --> “Settings” in the CMS.
Under the “Monetization Model”, select the checkbox for “Advertisement”.
Click on “Update”.
Advertisement will be enabled for your store. Once the Advertisement is enabled, it will be displayed under the Monetization menu. ((Monetization -->Advertisement)

Setting Up Your Ad Integration with SPOTX

First, you need to set up your account with SPOTX
Once your publisher account is setup, please go to “Monetization” --> “Advertisement” in the CMS (See Below Screenshot).
Click on “SPOTX“.
Click on the "Add New Ad Tag" button.
Type the Ad Tag Name and Ad Tag Value in the corresponding field.
Click on "Save".
When asked for confirmation, click on "Yes, Continue". Then click on "Ok".

Note: You can add multiple Ad Tags by repeating the above procedure. By creating multiple Ad Tags you can add different ads to different content in your store.

Setting Up Your Ad Integration with Google Ad Manager

First, you need to sign up with Google Ad Manager
Once you signed up with Google Ad Manager, you need to generate your *Ad Tag.
Navigate to “Monetization” --> “Advertisement” in the CMS (See Below Screenshot).
Click on “DoubleClick by Google".
Click on the "Add New Ad Tag" button (Please follow the same procedure as mentioned above for SPOTX)
Type the Ad Tag Name and Ad Tag Value in the corresponding field. (You can use the sample ad tags to test ads on the content)
Click on "Save".
When asked for confirmation, click on "Yes, Continue". Then click on "Ok".

Note:

*To generate the Ad Tags, first, select "Google Publisher Tag for Video and Audio" in your Google Ad Manager account. Select the player as "Google IMA SDK" on the next screen. Then, you have to select video format type as "Linear". Finally, you will get the video Ad Tag(VAST) that you need to copy and integrate into the Muvi CMS. Setting Up Your Ad Integration with BYOA (VAST Tags)

Bring Your Own Ad Server (BYOA) feature allows you to integrate any VAST compliant video ads to the Muvi CMS and then configure those ads to any video content. With BYOA, you can integrate Ad Tags to your video streaming platform from almost any Ad Server. To know how to integrate Third-Party Ad Server Tags to Muvi Click Here.

Managing Ads for Content

Navigate to “Manage Content“–-> “Content Library“ in the CMS
To set up an ad for content, on the right-hand side of the content, click on “Manage Ads”
Select the check box “Enable Ads on this video”.
Choose either *“Pre-roll”, *“Mid-roll” or *"Post-roll" option or you can also choose all the 3 options.
Select the #Ad Tag for content from the drop-down.
Click on “Save”.

Note:

Currently, we are supporting Ads for Pre-roll, Mid-roll, and Post-roll for SpotX and Pre-Roll, Mid-Roll for Google Ad Manager on web browsers only.
*If you select "Pre-roll" then the ad will be played before the content starts playing. If you select "Mid-roll" you can select the time after how many seconds or minutes the ad will be played in the content. If you select "Post-roll", the ad will be played at the end of the content.
For Google Ad Manager, there is no option available to enable the “Pre-roll”, “Mid-roll” in the Muvi CMS. You need to enable this in the Google Ad Manager server.
You can integrate ads in all types of content including, single part, multi-part, paid (SVOD, PPV), and free content. Currently, we do not support ads for live streaming content and third-party content(YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, etc.).
#At present, you can only configure only single Ad for each content. That means you can configure an Ad in specific content in Pre-Roll, Mid-Roll, and Post-Roll that will play in the content at the beginning, middle (the time you set for Mid-Roll), and end of the content. However, you cannot add 3 different Ads in Pre-Roll, Mid-Roll, and Post-Roll for specific content.

You can configure your video ads and collateral itself from your Ad Servers.

We support all kinds of ads for SPOTX, Google Ad Manager, and BYOA (VAST Tags) in Mobile Apps, TV Apps (Apple TV, Fire TV, Android TV, and Roku TV), and Mobile Browsers for non-DRM content.
