How to Generate Content Metadata Using AI (Alie)

Introduction

Muvi allows you to use AI (Alie) to automatically generate content metadata while creating or editing video content. Alie analyses the uploaded video and generates relevant metadata based on the content, helping you save time and reduce the effort required to manually enter content information.

You can generate all supported metadata fields at once or generate metadata individually for specific sections, such as the Description, Poster, or Banner.

Metadata Generated Using AI

Alie can generate the following metadata fields:

• Content Name
• Description
• Search Tag
• Posters
• Banners
• Categories

Textual metadata can be generated in multiple languages. Metadata generation also supports background processing, allowing the system to process the video and generate metadata without requiring you to wait for the entire process to complete.

Background Metadata Generation

AI metadata generation supports background processing. Once the generation process starts, Alie can continue processing the uploaded video in the background. This is particularly useful when generating multiple metadata fields or processing larger videos.

You can continue working in the Dashboard while the metadata generation is being processed, and the generated information will be available once processing is completed.

Generating Content Metadata Using AI

You can generate the AI metadata while creating a new video or editing an existing video. Uploading the video is mandatory to generate the AI metadata.

Adding video content is a 2-step process. In the first step, you can only add the basic content information and upload the video file (mandatory). In the second step, you can add metadata using AI.

Step 1: Adding Basic Content Information

• To add video content, navigate to “Content Management”-->” Content Library” in the Dashboard.
• In the Content Library, click on “Add New”.
• On the right side, select the “Content Type” (e.g., Video).
• Click on the “Edit Icon” at the top to change the content name from “Untitled Video” to a name that you want to add for the video.
• Select the “Group” (e.g., Video).
• Select the “Content Format” (e.g., Default).
• The “Permalink” will be automatically generated based on the content name.
• Select the “Categories & Subcategories” from the dropdown menu. (Click here to know how to add and manage “Categories and Subcategories)
• Under “Add Primary Media”, click on “Add” to upload a video for the content (Mandatory).
• Select the “Encoding Profile” from the drop-down menu. If you have not created any encoding profile, you can select “Default Video Profile”. Click here to learn how to create an encoding profile.
• You can select a video from your computer or select a video from the Asset Library (if you have already uploaded the video to the Asset Library). You can also “Drag and drop” video files to the dialog box.
• Click on “Save and Continue” in the top right corner.
• The content information will be saved, and the video content will be created.

Step 2: Generating Metadata Using AI and Adding Additional Details.

In the second step of adding the content, you can generate the metadata using AI. Also, you can add other details like “Preview Media”, “Monetization”, “Security”, “People”, “Add-ons”, and other advanced details.

• At the top, click on “Smart Fill with Alie” to generate all the metadata at once.
• The metadata generation will start.
• Once the process is completed, you can see all the metadata.
• Once the metadata is added, you may add other details like “Preview Media”, “Monetization”, “Security”, “People”, “Add-ons”, etc.
• Click on “Save and Publish” to publish the content.

Generate Metadata for Individual Sections

If you do not want to generate all metadata at once, you can generate metadata for individual sections. For example, you can generate only the Description, Poster, Banner, or Search Tag while keeping the remaining metadata unchanged.

• To generate metadata for an individual field, navigate to “Content Management”-->” Content Library” in the Dashboard.
• In the “Content Library”, click on the “Edit Icon” under the content for which you want to generate the metadata.
• Click on the “Generate with Alie” icon for the section for which you want to generate the metadata (e.g., Poster, Banner, Title, Story/Description, Search Tags, etc.).
• The metadata will be generated.
• You can generate metadata for each section separately.
• Click on “Save and Publish” to save the generated metadata and publish the content.

Generate Metadata in Multiple Languages

Alie supports textual metadata generation in multiple languages. When generating supported textual fields, you can select the required language so that the generated metadata is available in the selected language.

• Navigate to “Content Management”-->” Content Library” in the Dashboard.
• In the “Content Library”, click on the “Edit Icon” under the content for which you want to generate the metadata in a different language.
• Select the “Language” from the Dashboard dropdown.
• Click on the “Generate with Alie” icon for the section for which you want to generate the metadata (e.g., Story/Description).
• The metadata will be translated into the language you selected from the drop-down.
• Click on “Save and Publish” to save the generated metadata and publish the content.
• On the website/app, you can select the language and see the translation of the content's metadata of the content.
