How to Publish Your Livestreams to Muvi One

Introduction

The Publish to Muvi One feature allows you to publish your live streams directly to your Muvi One website and apps. Instead of sharing separate player links with your viewers, you can make your live streaming experience part of your OTT platform.

Once published, your live streams appear as regular content on your Muvi One platform, complete with posters, banners, categories, and frontend URLs. Viewers can watch the livestream directly from your website or app and can also receive reminders before the event begins.

For example, an event organizer can create a livestream in Muvi Live and publish it to their Muvi One website, allowing viewers to discover and watch the event directly from the OTT platform.

Publishing your live streams to Muvi One provides the following benefits:

• No separate player links: Viewers can access the livestream directly from your Muvi One website or app without requiring a separate player or meeting link.
• Seamless content experience: Livestreams appear alongside your regular video content, making them easier for viewers to discover.
• Monetization: You can use Subscription and PPV monetization options where supported.
• Device-specific artwork: Add posters and banners optimized for web, mobile, and TV devices.
• Stay within your OTT platform: Viewers can watch the livestream without being redirected to external pages.
• Event reminders: Viewers can receive reminders before a scheduled livestream begins.

Prerequisites

Before publishing a livestream to Muvi One, ensure that:

• You have an active Muvi One and Muvi Live
• You have a Muvi One website/app configured.
• You have created a livestream in Muvi Live.

Publishing Livestream to Muvi One

First, you need to create a livestream, and then you can select the option to publish it to Muvi One. There are 2 steps to create a livestream. In the first step, you can add the basic details about the livestream, and in the second step, you can add additional details.

Step 1:

• Navigate to “Content Management” à “Content Library” in the Dashboard.
• Click on “Add New”.
• In the “Content Type”, select “Livestream” from the drop-down menu.
• Click on the “Edit Icon” at the top to add a Livestream Name.
• In the “Encoding Profile”, select the encoding profile you created, or you can select the Muvi Default encoding profile.
• The “Permalink” will be automatically generated.
• Select a “Category” from the list. You can select multiple categories for the livestream.
• Click on “Manage Source” to select a source for the livestream. You can select from multiple options available (e.g., SRT, RTMP, External Live Feed, Webcam, or Screen via Browser). When you select “External Live Feed”, provide an HLS feed URL in the corresponding field.
• Select the “Nearest Location” from the drop-down menu.
• Click on “Confirm”.
• Click on “Save and Continue”.
• The livestream will be created.

Step 2:

• Click on the “Design” tab.
• In “Poster”, upload a poster for the livestream. It will appear on the website/app. You can add the poster for Web, Mobile, and TV apps.
• In “Banner”, upload a banner for the livestream. It will appear on the website/app.
• Click on the “Monetization” tab to add monetization for the livestream.
• You can add “Subscription” or “PPV” monetization for the livestream.
• Click on the “Security” tab to add “Geo-Block” for the livestream. You can Geo-Block the livestream for any specific country, state, or city.
• Click on the “Advanced” tab.
• Select the option “Auto Record” if you want the livestream to be recorded automatically in the background. After the live event, you can access the recording from the “Assets”.
• Select “Event Reminder” if you want to set a reminder for the live event. End-users will get the reminder prior to the event. You can set the reminder in “Minutes” (e.g., 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes, etc.).
• Under “Related content”, you can relate the livestream to other VOD or livestream content.
• Type a story/description about the livestream.
• Add the “Search Tags” for the livestream.
• Under “Time Zone”, select your time zone from the dropdown menu.
• Type the “From” and “To” time of the livestream.
• Select the option “Publish to Muvi One Website/Apps”.
• Click on “Save & Publish”.

Access Published Livestream on the Frontend

Once published, the livestream becomes part of your Muvi One content experience. Users can discover and access it through the website or supported apps without navigating to a separate player page. The livestream can be displayed with its configured poster, banner, category, and frontend URL, like other content available on your platform.

• When the end-users visit the website/app, they can view the livestream under the livestream category.
• They can play the livestream by clicking on the “Watch Live” button.
• They will be asked to purchase the livestream if it is monetized.
• The end-users can also set reminders by clicking on “Remind Me”. They will get a reminder before the livestream starts.
