Introduction

With Muvi’s advanced search functionality and filtering/sorting options, users can easily find the content and products (in Muvi Kart) on your website. Users can find content by typing genre, search tags, actor’s name for movies, and typing format (DVD, Blue Ray) for physical goods along with the title (for movies) and SKU number and product name (for physical goods) in the search bar of your website. They can also filter/sort digital or physical content on your website by using the filtering/sorting options.

How the Advanced Search Functionality Works

• Our advanced search functionality works based on the keywords used by the user to search for content or product and using the search tags. For instance, if a user types John Travolta in the search bar, then he/she will get the list of movies in which John Travolta has worked as an actor. And the list will be shown in the order of popularity of the movies. That means the movies most-watched will be shown first in the list and so on.
• If a user searches for a movie, then the movie name along with other related things in that name will be displayed in the result. For example, if a user searches for Titanic, then the result will first display the movie Titanic and then display the other things in that name, such as merchandise named Titanic, etc.
• When a user types action movies in the search bar, the result will display all the action movies in the order of popularity. That means the most-watched action movies will be displayed first.
• In Muvi Kart, when a user searches for a DVD or Blue Ray disc, then the result will be displayed in the availability of the product. For instance, if a user types Angry Birds DVD in the search bar, then the result will display the Angry Birds DVD first and if not available then it will display the Angry Birds Blue Ray discs or other items related to Angry Birds.
• Tag-based search works when an admin adds search tags to the content (e.g. #action, #movie_name, #actor_name). Users can search the content by typing the search tags in the search bar.

How Users Can Search Content/Products

Users need to type the keyword in the search bar and click on the search icon or hit enter.

Searching Content Using Search Tags

You can add search tags at the time of adding content. The search tags can help your users find the content easily on your website/app. The users simply need to type the search tags in the search bar and it will fetch the accurate result. While adding a content (Single Part, Multi-Part, Live Streaming) you can add search tags. 

Adding Search Tags to Content

First, add "#" to enter search tags in the text field. Press "Enter" key or "," comma (e.g. #action, #horror). You can add multiple search tags. 

Note: You can add a maximum of 5 search tags to content. 

• Users can search the specific content by typing the search tags in the search bar of your website/app.

Using Filtering/Sorting Options on Website

On the store front end, users can easily filter/sort digital and physical content by using the filtering/sorting options. The digital content can be filtered by genre and sorted by last updated, alphabetical order (Ascending, descending) etc.

• The physical content can be sorted by alphabetical order (Ascending, descending), last updated and release date.

Note: This option is only available in "Physical Only" template. 

Filter Content Using URL Argument

You can also filter content using the URL argument. Type the content category or genre name in the site URL to search the content. After typing the category name, genre name in the URL, you need to hit Enter.
