How to Point Your Domain to Our IP
To point your domain name to our IP Address, first, you need to create an "A" record or Address Record. "A" record points a domain or subdomain to an IP address. For example, you can point www.yourdomain.com to our IP address. "A" record provides information about your host/domain name IP address. Please follow the below-mentioned steps to create an "A" record.
- Sign in to your account (i.e. GoDaddy, Bluehost, etc.)
- Go to your domain
- Click on the Advanced DNS/Manage DNS
- You will find the host records section in the DNS
- Click on the add/edit record button
- Select "A" record for type and you must enter the host that is pointing to our IP address
- Create "A" as below
- In the "Host" field, type "@" (See Below Screenshot)
- In the "Points To" field, type our IP
- In the "CNAME" field, type "WWW"
- Click on "Save"
The below screenshot shows how to point your domain in GoDaddy. The user interface may differ for different hosting providers.
Note:
- WWW is not required if you are pointing to a sub-domain ( i.e. abc.yourdomain.com)
- The steps mentioned above to create "A" record is common for most of the web hosting service provider (For example, GoDaddy, bluehost)
- Click on “Preview Website” in your CMS to see if your domain name has changed successfully (See Below Screenshot).
