Supported Carrier Billers for Different Platforms

Introduction

We support Carrier Billing or Payments using mobile/cellular operators. It is an alternative payment method that allows customers to pay for content purchases directly on their phone bills instead of making payments with debit or credit card, cash, or bank transfer.

By integrating the Carrier Billing payment method or mobile payment system, you can allow your end-users to select the mobile billing option at the time of checkout and they need to follow a two-factor authentication procedure for secure mobile payment.

Enable Carrier Billing

Before integrating any telecom billing partner, first, you need to enable Carrier Billing for your store.

• Navigate to “Monetizations” -->” Setting” in the CMS.
• Under Carrier Billing, select the check box “Carrier Billing”
• Click on “Update”
• Carrier Billing will be enabled for your store and you can see it under the Monetization menu.

How End-Users Purchase Content/Subscription

Once the Carrier Billing is integrated, the end-users can purchase content and/or subscription by using their mobile number via the mobile payment method. The purchased amount is charged from their talk time balance.

• The end-users need to type their mobile number in the payment popup screen and click on "Pay Now".
• They will be asked to verify their mobile number thereafter.
• Once their mobile number is verified, the amount is deducted from their talk time balance.

Adding Ideabiz

Once Carrier Billing is enabled, you need to integrate a telecom billing partner to receive payment from your users. Let's add ideabiz. 

• Go to “Monetization” --> “Carrier Billing” in your CMS
• Click on "ideabiz"
• Type the Consumer User Name, Consumer Password, Consumer Key and Consumer Secret in the corresponding field (Which you have obtained after signing up with ideabiz)
• Click on “Integrate Carrier Billing” (See Below Screenshot)

Note: 

• Currently, we support only Sri Lanka currency(LKR) for ideabiz
• It only supports Subscription Monetization Method

Adding M-Pesa

• To add M-Pesa, go to “Monetization” --> “Carrier Billing” in your CMS
• Click on "M-Pesa"
• Type the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret in the corresponding field (Which you have obtained after signing up with M-Pesa)
• Click on “Integrate Carrier Billing” (See Below Screenshot)

Note: 

• Currently, we support only Kenyan currency(KES) for M-Pesa 
• M-Pesa doesn't support Muvi Kart for now
• Coupon is also not supported by M-Pesa
• It only supports PPV (Pay Per View) Monetization Method

Adding MonetBil

• To add monetbil, navigate to “Monetization” --> “Carrier Billing” in the CMS
• Click on "monetbil"
• Type the Service Key and Service Secret in the corresponding field (Which you have obtained after signing up with monetbil)
• Click on “Integrate Carrier Billing” (See Below Screenshot)

Note:

• Currently, we support only XOF, XAF, and USD currency for monetbil
• It doesn't support Muvi Kart for now
• Country Supported: Cameroon, Senegal
• Monetizations Supported: Subscription

Adding MTN

• To add MTN, go to “Monetization” --> “Carrier Billing” in the CMS
• Click on "MTN"
• Type the SPD ID and SPD Password in the corresponding field (Which you have obtained after signing up with MTN)
• Click on “Integrate Carrier Billing” (See Below Screenshot)

Note:

• It supports the "Subscription" monetization method and one-time payment method "PPV (Pay Per View)".
• It doesn't support Muvikart
• Coupons and Vouchers are also not supported by MTN
• Currently, we support only XOF currency for MTN

Adding MTN GHC

• To add MTN GHC, navigate to “Monetization” --> “Carrier Billing” in the CMS.
• Click on "MTN GHC".
• Type the Subscription Key, User ID, and API Key in the corresponding field (Which you have obtained after signing up with MTN GHC).
• Click on “Integrate Carrier Billing” (see below screenshot).

Note:

• It supports the "Subscription" monetization method.
• It doesn't support Muvikart.
• It supports GHC currency.
• The country supported is Ghana.

Adding MTN DEP

• To add MTN DEP, navigate to “Monetization” --> “Carrier Billing” in the CMS.
• Click on "MTN DEP".
• Type the Access Key, Access Secret, Api Key, and Partner Id in the corresponding field (Which you have obtained after signing up with MTN DEP)
• Click on “Integrate Carrier Billing” (see below screenshot)

Note:

• Currently, we support only ZAR currency for TPAY
• It doesn't support Muvi Kart for now.
• Country Supported: South Africa. 
• Monetizations Supported: Subscription.

Adding TPAY

• To add TPAY, navigate to “Monetization” --> “Carrier Billing” in the CMS.
• Click on "TPAY".
• Type the Merchant Public Key and Merchant Private Key in the corresponding field (Which you have obtained after signing up with TPAY)
• Click on “Integrate Carrier Billing” (see below screenshot)

Note:

• Currently, we support only KES currency for TPAY
• It doesn't support Muvi Kart for now
• Country Supported: Kenya
• Monetizations Supported: Subscription and PPV
