Downloading Content to Your Device
By enabling Muvi’s "Offline Playback" feature you can allow your end users to download DRM protected content to their mobile devices (Android and iOS) and watch the content latter. The content is saved to the user's device and it is also DRM protected. Users can access the content from “My Download”. When they play the content, it will not stream from the server but will play from their device. This will save the bandwidth and the content will be played without any buffering.
First, you need to enable offline playback for a specific content in the CMS.
Note: When the end-users download content, first the audio file of the content is downloaded, and then the video file starts downloading. As the audio file is always less in size compared to the video file, so it downloads faster. Hence, the end-users will see the download of the video file once the audio file download is completed. End-users can check the download status from the notification manager (It will show 1 of 2 files downloading). |
You can access your saved content from “My Download”. All your saved content will be listed here.
Note: First, you need to login to your App to access your saved content.
Whenever you want you can delete any saved content from your device.
The saved content will be deleted from your device. You will not able to see the content in “My Download” anymore.
You can cast the offline videos saved in your mobile device to a large screen TV. In Android devices you can cast through Chromecast and in iOS devices you can do it via AirPlay.
