Introduction

Muvi allows you to add and manage metadata in multiple languages for your content and related items. This helps you deliver a localized experience to global audiences by displaying titles, descriptions, names, and other metadata in the viewer’s preferred language. Once configured, end users on the front-end platform can view content metadata in multiple languages.

How to Add Language

Before you translate the content metadata, you must add the language(s) in the Dashboard. You can add multiple languages in which you can translate the content metadata.

• To add language, navigate to “Settings” -->” Language & Translation” in the Dashboard.
• Click on the “Language” tab.
• Click on “Add Language”.
• Select the language from the drop-down menu.
• Click on “Save”.
• Repeat the process to add more languages.
• Once the language is added, you can view it in the drop-down in the Dashboard.

How to Translate Content Metadata

First, you need to add the content in the default language. For example, if your default language is English, then add the content in English. Once the content is added in the default language, you can translate it while editing the content.

• To translate content metadata, navigate to “Content Management” -->” Content Library” in the Dashboard.
• In the Content Library, click on the “Edit Icon” under the content that you want to translate.
• In the Content Edit page, select the language from the drop-down menu on the Dashboard.
• You can translate the content “Name”, “Story/Description”, etc.
• Use Google Translate to translate the original language into the language you want to translate.
• Copy the translated text and paste it into the field that you want to translate.
• Click on “Save and Publish”.

How End-Users Can View Translated Metadata

• The end-user can visit your website/app and select the language from the language button.
• Once the language is selected, the end-users can view the translated metadata of the content.
