How to Add Nested Audio Content (Audio Album, Podcast)

    Introduction

    Creating Nested Content Groups

    Adding Album or Parent Content

Adding Audio Tracks or Child Content

    Introduction

The Nested Audio Content feature allows you to organize your audio files, such as songs, episodes, or clips, into structured groups like Albums or Podcasts. Each album or podcast acts as a parent content, containing multiple audio tracks or episodes as child content.

This feature helps you manage related audio content easily, providing your users with a seamless listening experience — for example, an entire music album or a podcast series with multiple episodes.

    Creating Nested Content Groups

Before adding nested audio content, you need to create a Content Group that will help you link the parent (album/podcast) and its child (audio tracks/episodes). The content group will act as a container for your parent and child audio content.

    • To create a group, navigate to “Content Management” -->” Content Settings” in the CMS.
    • Click on the “Content Group” tab.
    • Click on “Add New Content Group”.
    • Type the Content Group Name.
    • Select the Number of Levels from the drop-down (i.e., 2).
    • Type the “Level 0” name (e.g., “Album”)
    • Type the “Level 1” name (e.g., “Track”)
    • Select the “Display of Level 1”. That is how you want to show it on the front end. Select the structure (i.e., Drop-Down, Separate Page, Heading, Tabs)
    • Select the “Display of Level 1”. That is how you want to show it on the front end. Select the structure (i.e., Drop-Down, Separate Page, Heading, Tabs)
    • Click on “Save”. A new group will be created. You can create multiple groups to add different types of multi-part content.
    • You can also “Edit” a specific “Group” or delete a “Group”.

    Adding Album or Parent Content

First, you need to add the “Parent” or “Album”, then you can add the “Tracks”. Adding the parent content is a 2-step process.

Step 1: Adding Basic Content Information

    • To add the “Album”, navigate to “Content Management” -->” Content Library” in the CMS.
    • Under the “Content Library”, click on “Add New” on the extreme right-hand side.
    • On the right side, select the “Content Type” (i.e., Audio).
    • Select the “Group” (i.e., Audio Album).
    • Select the “Categories & Subcategories” from the dropdown menu. (Click here to know how to add and manage “Categories and Subcategories)
    • Click on the “Edit Icon” at the top to change the parent content name from “Untitled Audio” to a name that you want to add for the audio.
    • The “Permalink” will be automatically generated based on the content name.
    • Click on “Save and Continue”.

Step 2: Adding Media Assets and Additional Details

Once the audio content is created, you can enhance the content by adding a thumbnail, banner, cast and crew details, and configuring options like monetization, security, and more.

    Adding Preview, Posters & Banners

    • Click on the “Design” tab.
    • Under “Poster”, upload a thumbnail or poster for the content. You can upload different sizes of posters for Web, Mobile, and TV platforms.
    • Under “Banner”, upload a banner for the content. You can upload different sizes of banners for Web, Mobile, and TV platforms.

    Adding Monetization

    • Click on the “Monetization” tab to add monetization methods like “Advertisements” for the content.

    Adding Security Features

    • Click on the “Security” tab to add security options like Geo-block to the content. You can block your content for a specific city, state or country.

    Adding People (Cast & Crew)

    • Click on the “People” tab to add cast and crew-related information to the content.
    • You can instantly add the people’s information and map it to the content.

Adding a Playlist and Related Content

    • Click on the “Advanced” tab to add the content to an audio playlist.
    • You can also relate or link the content with another video, audio, or document using the “Related Content” feature.

    Adding Description & Search Tags

    • On the right-hand side, type the content “Description”.
    • Add the “Search Tags” or keywords to help your end-users find your content easily on the front-end (e.g., romantic, vocals, etc.)

Adding Audio Tracks or Child Content

Once the parent or album is created, you can add the audio tracks or child content under it. Multiple tracks can be created under the album. This is a 2-step process.

Step 1: Adding Basic Track Information

    • To add the audio tracks, navigate to “Content Management” -->” Content Library” in the CMS.
    • In the “Content Library”, under the “Parent” or “Album”, click on “+Add Tracks”.
    • Click on the “Edit Icon” at the top to change the content name from “Untitled Audio” to a name that you want to add for the audio track.
    • The “Permalink” will be automatically generated based on the content name.
    • Under “Add Primary Media”, click on “Add” to add the audio file for the track.
    • Select the “Encoding Profile” from the drop-down menu. If you have not created any encoding profile, you can select “Default Audio Profile”. Click here to know how to create an encoding profile.
    • You can select an audio file from your computer or select audio from the Asset Library (if you have already uploaded the video to the Asset Library). You can also “Drag and Drop” an audio file to the dialog box.
    • Click on “Save and Continue” in the top right corner.
    • The content information will be saved, and audio track will be created.

You can upload banners in various sizes for Web, Mobile, and TV platforms.

    Adding Monetization

    • You can also configure “Advertisements” for the content.

    Adding People (Cast & Crew)

    • Click on the “People” tab to add cast and crew-related information to the content.
    • You can instantly add the people’s information and map it to the content.
    • Adding a Playlist and Related Content
    • Click on the “Advanced” tab to add the content to an audio playlist.
    • You can also relate or link the content with another video, audio, or document using the “Related Content” feature.

    Adding Description & Search Tags

    • On the right-hand side, type the content “Description”.
    • Add the “Search Tags” or keywords to help your end-users find your content easily on the front-end (e.g., romantic, vocals, etc.)
