    Handling App Rejection Notice

    Introduction

    Sometimes, after submitting your Android or iOS App to the Google Play store or iTunes store, it may get rejected due to various reasons. When your app get rejected by Google Play store or iTunes store, you will receive an email notification regarding this. After you received an app rejection email, you need to find out the reasons of rejection. Usually, the reasons are mentioned in the email. After knowing the reasons, you need to rectify the errors and then resubmit your app.

    Reasons for Android App Rejection

    Google Play store rejects Android Apps for various reasons. The most common reasons include,

    • Inappropriate content -> In the app’s rating details, you must mention, if it contains any form of violence, sexual or mature content. You should not be amazed if your app is considered for inappropriate content if you sign it off as insignificant.
    • Copyright Infringement -> Be it in design, code or concept, Google has very strict guidelines against copyright infringement. So, always try to make an original app instead of copying the concept, design or code from another popular android app.
    • Missing information or Poor App description–> Describe your App functionality in clear and concise manner. Let the users know what the app is about and how much space it will contain after installation, whether it contains any ads or not etc. If you will not provide the accurate information, then there are chances that your app may get rejected.
    • App without Privacy Policy -> An android app without privacy policy or having the capability to share user’s private information for example, email address, phone number, name, photos, location, videos and other personal data will get rejected.
    • Intellectual Property, Deception, and Spam -> If you will rely on deceptive, spammy tactics or unfairly use other people’s work, then your app will be rejected by Google Play app store.

    How to Handle App Rejection for Android App

    When your Android App get rejected by the Google Play store, you will receive an email notification. The email will contain the information why your app get rejected by the App store. So, after knowing the reason, you need to rectify it and then resubmit the app. You can also make an appeal if you think your app is rejected by mistake. You need to provide enough evidence for this.      Reasons for iOS App Rejection

    Due to several reasons your iOS app will get rejected by iTunes app store. The common reasons are,

    • Inappropriate App Description -> If you have described your iOS app in an inappropriate manner then Apple will reject your app. So, make sure to provide accurate information and screenshots of the app.
    • Bugs and Crashes -> If your iOS app contains any bugs or it crashes frequently then, Apple will reject your App.
    • Mediocre User Interface-> If your iOS app is built with substandard user interface then Apple will reject your app as Apple places a high value on user-friendly, refined, and clean interfaces.
    • Broken Links-> If you provide broken or inappropriate links in your App then, Apple will reject your App. So, before submitting your App make sure that all the links in your app including support, privacy policy, renewal and/or subscription etc. are working properly.

    Note: Please do not use the terms, "Subscription", "Free Trial", "Purchase", "Website", "TV", "Account",  "Android", "Activation", "Plans", "Memberships", "Charges", "Price" inside the App and/or App description in the iTunes App store, to avoid your App getting rejected by Apple.
