Introduction

To install the LG TV app by using the .ipk file, first, you need to download the LGWebOS SDK from the Developer LG website on your computer and then you need to connect your computer to the TV. Here we have provided detailed steps to install the LG TV app by using the .ipk file.

How to Install LG TV App

1. You need to download the LGWebOS sdk from the Developer LG website to your computer. 

2. Go to the path C:webOS_TV_SDKCLI> by using CMD (Command Prompt)

3. Then install the “Developer Mode” if developer mode has not been installed on your device.

4. After the installation, put the LG-login credentials from the LG store on that Developer mode page.

Step 1- Go to the settings, and find system settings, there you will get LG’s store credentials.

Step 2 - Put those credentials on the developer mode page after getting credentials from the LG store.

Step 3 - If you have not logged in to the LG store, then you can sign in again through this LG store account.

On the LG device, after logging, keep developer mode on and the key server on.

5. Set up devices for LG to run by using the following command.

           Ares-setup-device

   Example: C:webOS_TV_SDKCLI>ares-setup-device

Note:  You can modify the device info in the above list, or add a new device.

? Select modify

? Select a device Demo2

? Enter Device IP address: 192.168.20.90 (Your device's IP network must be the same as your PC's IP network.)

? Enter Device Port: 9922

? Enter ssh user: prisoner

? Enter description: new device

? Select authentication ssh key

? Enter ssh private key file name: webos_Demo2

? Enter the key's passphrase: C81CD3 (Your key's passphrase address must be the same as your developer mode key's passphrase.)

? Save? Yes

 6. Find the devices by using the following command.

  ares-setup-device -list

   Example: C:webOS_TV_SDKCLI>ares-setup-device -list

 7. Then Run the following command.

    Example: C:webOS_TV_SDKCLI>ares-novacom --device Demo2--getkey

   After that, you need to follow the mentioned procedure.

  SSH Private Key: C:UsersBISHAL.sshDemo2_webos

   input passphrase [default: webos]:C81CD3 

 8. Install the .ipk file and place the .ipk file in CLI folder.

    ares-install --device emulator ./com.yourdomain.app_0.0.1_all.ipk

     Example -ares-install --device emulator ../com.release.phoenix_1.0.0_all.ipk

After this, you will get the message below.

     Installing package ../com.release.phoenix_1.0.0_all.ipk

      Success

 9. Install the app by using the Command Prompt.

 C:webOS_TV_SDKCLI>ares-install --device Demo2 --list

 Here you find the package available for installation like this.

 com.aeontvlatest.app

 com.release.aeon tv

 10. Finally, Run the app by using the following command.

Example: C:webOS_TV_SDKCLI>ares-launch --device Demo2 com.release.phoenix
