Adding Video Cards

Introduction

Muvi’s Video Card feature allows you to add Poll and/or External links to your video content. This makes your videos interactive by letting the viewers participate in a multiple-choice poll or check out more information (a web page, another video), etc. using an external link. The video card feature is accessible to the users via the player. You can add video cards to single-part video, multi-part child video, and to both DRM and Non-DRM video content. The response of the users (link clicks and poll) will be stored in the CMS and can be viewed in the Video Card analytics.

How to Enable Video Card

Before creating the Video Cards, first, you need to enable this feature in the CMS. You can enable it under “Player”.

• Click on “Player” in the CMS.
• Under Player, select “Enable Video Cards”. The Video Card feature will be enabled.

How to Add Video Card

The video card can be added to any content in the Content Library (i.e. Single part & Multi-part Child)

• Navigate to “Manage Content” -->” Content Library” in the CMS.
• On the extreme right-hand side of the content, click on “Manage Video Cards”.
• To add a video card, you need to click on “Add Card”.

There are 2 types of Video Cards you can add to the content.

• External Link: Image with a title that redirects to a specific link (URL) when clicked on.
• Poll: Create questions with multiple choice type answers.

 Note: You can add both External Link and Poll to the same content.

Adding External Link

• Click on “Add Card”, under “Manage Cards” in the CMS.
• In “Card Type”, select “External Link” from the drop-down.
• In the “Title” field (mandatory), mention the title of the link.
• Type a description of the link in the “Description” field.
• In the “Redirect URL” field, type the URL of the page where you want your users to visit.
• Click on “Upload Image” to upload an image for the link.
• To complete the process, click on “Save”.

While watching the video, the users will see the “i” icon on the top right-hand corner of the Player. When they click on the icon, they will see the External Link image and description. When they click on the link, they will be redirected to the page that you want them to visit. The users’ responses can be viewed from the Video Card analytics.

How to Add Poll

By adding Poll cards, you can turn a video into an even more effective tool for gathering customer and viewer feedback. You can create a poll with multiple choice questions and allow the users to answer the questions in the video itself. When users click on the poll while watching the video, they can select the answer to the question from the multiple-choice answers.  The answers will be stored in the CMS. You can view it in the Video Card Analytics.

• Click on “Add Card”, under “Manage Cards” in the CMS.
• In “Card Type”, select “Poll” from the drop-down.
• Type your poll question in the “Question” field.
• Type answer options. You can add multiple answers to the question. For example, in “Option – 1”, type one answer, in “Option – 2 “type another, and so on. To add more options, click on the “+” icon.
• To complete the process, click on “Save”.

While watching the video, the users will see the “i” icon on the top right-hand corner of the Player. When they click on the icon, they will see the Poll questions and answers. When they select the answer, it will be saved in the CMS and can be viewed in Video Card analytics.

View & Manage Video Cards

You can view and edit the Poll and External Links you have added for the content under “Manage Cards”.

View Video Cards

• To edit the Poll and/or the External Link, navigate to “Manage Content” -->”Content Library” in the CMS.
• Click on “Manage Video Cards” on the extreme right-hand side of the content.
• Under “Manage Cards”, you will see all the External Links and the Polls you have added.
• If the users already responded to the Polls and/or External Links, then you can view the results by clicking on “Analytics” on the extreme right-hand side of the Poll/Link under “Action” column.

Edit/Delete Video Cards

• To edit the Poll and/or the External Link, navigate to “Manage Content” -->” Content Library” in the CMS.
• Click on “Manage Video Cards” on the extreme right-hand side of the content.
• Under “Manage Cards”, you will see all the External Links and the Polls you have added.
• To edit a Poll or External Link, click on “Edit” on the extreme right-hand side of the link/poll.
• Make necessary changes and then click on “Save”.
• To delete a Poll/External Link, you need to select it by clicking on the checkbox. Then click on the “Delete Card” button on the extreme right-hand side of the Poll/Link.
• When asked for confirmation, click on “Yes” to delete the Poll/External Link.
